Access to the island
The specificity of accessing Lefkada is that it is the only Greek island that can be accessed by a floating bridge road.
From Athens Lefkada is about 370 km via big roads, 400km from Thessaloniki, through the Via Egnatia and 100 km from the port of Igoumenitsa through the underwater tunnel of Preveza.
Also, two of Lefkada’s villages, Nidri and Vasiliki, are linked by ferry boat with the islands of Cephalonia and Ithaca.
If you arrive by plane, the international airport of Action is at a distance of 18km form the town of Lefkada.
